Welcome to Silverdale Fall Baseball 2024!
Silverdale fall baseball is open to all players ages 8-13 (age on Apr 30, 2024), we look forward to trying to add more ages in the coming years if space allows. There are no boundary restrictions - all are welcome! Most of our practices and games are at Pete Ross Fields, centrally located near the Trails in Silverdale. We also utilize Central Kitsap School fields as needed. Practices & Games are scheduled on weekday evenings starting at 5pm and varying times on Saturdays and Sundays. We are governed by the SPWAA bylaws and dedicated to promoting a positive sports learning environment for our community’s youth. Our focus is on the children’s exposure to the basic fundamental skills and strategies of baseball as well as the concepts of teamwork, leadership, sportsmanship, and citizenship. Our primary goal is to provide every child an opportunity to develop and grow both as an athlete and as a person, where they evaluate their experience based on their individual efforts and the enjoyment they achieved from participating.
Please Note the Following:
1.) Umpires are not provided by the league in Fall Ball, coaches will be required to umpire games.
2.) Rain out games will not be made up.
3.) Field prep and care will be the sole responsibility of the Home Team before each game. All teams will be required to rake fields after each practice.
4.) There are no playoffs in Fall Ball, this is a chance for kids to get extra games and work on development in a laid back atmosphere.
5.) Uniforms and hats will be basic designs to keep the cost down.
6.) There will be no evaluations, the teams will be split up as equally as possible by the Baseball AD and ages of players.
Division Format
Players are asked to register at their skill level based in addition to age. You will be able to select the division of play at the time of registration. There are only 2 divisions this year Minors + ages 8-10 and Majors + ages 11-13.
Majors Division+
Is for 11-13 year old players (age on Apr 30, 2024) . Team assignment is based on age and Baseball AD. Features a 50' pitching distance and 70' base paths. This division plays under the Official Baseball Rules, but implements some special rules as necessary for the development and safety of this young age group. Games and Practices will be held at Pete Ross Fields and CKSD fields. Games will be umped by coaches and fans.
Minors Division+
Is for 8-10 year old players (age on Apr 30, 202). Team assignment is based on age and Baseball AD. Features a 46' pitching distance and 60' base paths. This division plays under the Official Baseball Rules, but implements some special rules as necessary for the development and safety of this young age group. Players build and refine their fundamental skills while beginning to understand game strategy and teamwork. Players are learn to properly pitch & catch, and hit against live player pitching. Practices will be held at Pete Ross Fields and Brownsville Elementary. Most games are expected to be held at Pete Ross Field #3. Games will be umped by coaches and fans.
